Czech Republic won their premiere game against Latvia with style.

Czech Republic got a really good start at the WU19 WFC, to say the least. It took them nearly five minutes to score their first goal, but after that there was no question about which team that had taken control over the game. Although Latvia managed to create a few good opportunities, they never got really close.

–  I think we were a bit nervous from the beginning, then we started to play our game, says MVP Vendula Maroszová.

By the end of the first period, Czech Republic had already scored four goals, where the third one was made thanks to a beautiful assist by Eliška Chudá. During the second period Czech Republic kept convincing and increased their lead to as much as 10-0.

Despite being far behind, team Latvia kept their head up and made a great effort during the third period. Nevertheless, team Czech Republic managed to score a few more times by the end of the period and finally won with 16-0.

MVP Czech Republic: Vendula Maroszová

MVP Latvia: Barbara Rabčevska
